Criminal Justice

Preparing leaders in Criminal Justice through critical perspectives and experiential pedagogies

The Criminal Justice program at Augustana University pushes beyond traditional criminal justice discipline by providing a critical and proactive perspective on the American criminal justice system. Its curriculum emphasizes the intersections of race, class, gender, and other social inequalities as they map onto the philosophies, practices, structures and outcomes of the criminal justice system. Our goal is to prepare students to be leaders and change makers by preparing them to think critically and act ethically in diverse criminal justice careers. Alongside Augustana, the criminal justice program maintains an enduring commitment to empower our students to be generous servant leaders.
