OTDP 6321 Level IA Fieldwork: Psychosocial and Community-Based OT Practice
This course emphasizes the development of clinical reasoning, therapeutic use of self and the occupational therapy process with a focus on the socialization of professional behavior and attitudes into the practice environment. Simulation and/or faculty-led experiences promote an organized approach to implementation of the occupational therapy process including evaluation, intervention planning, and goal setting. The course includes exposure to various service delivery models within psychosocial and community-based settings such as community-based clinics, shelters, private, and government-funded programs. This course occurs face-to-face during lab immersion weeks.
