OTDP 6234 Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology in OT
This course explores technological interventions and assistive technologies and services commonly used in occupational therapy practice. Differences between rehabilitative and assistive technologies are explored. The course includes analysis of theoretical frameworks, types of technologies and services, assessment, design, adaptation, modification, and monitoring of assistive technologies that support occupational performance. Research and evidence-based practice strategies are used for the identification of technologies and interventions for individuals with identified needs across the lifespan. This course meets online via both synchronous and asynchronous methods, and includes an experiential lab immersion.
