SPAN 381 Seminario - Don Quijote

This seminar will be dedicated to an examination of the first part of Miguel de Cervantes' monumental work El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha. Our close-reading of the text will be supported by an examination of a variety of literary, critical, and historical aspects that will lead us to understanding the novel in its context, as well as leading us to a consideration of its significance as a timeless and outstanding piece of world literature. This course satisfies the literature requirement for the Spanish Major.
