Pre-Physical Therapy
Suggested Program of Study
Most programs in physical therapy require 50 hours or more of observation in a physical therapy setting. The student should arrange such an experience with his or her advisor. Typical courses required before entry into a graduate level program in physical therapy are:
Required Courses
One Human Physiology course
Take one human physiology course.
Two Chemistry Courses
Take two courses from the following combinations:
CHEM 1030 & CHEM 1040
CHEM 1050 & CHEM 2200
CHEM 1050 & CHEM 2300
One Organic Chemistry Course
Take One course from:

Take one Physics course sequence
Take
PHYS 1510 and 1520 or PHYS 1610 and 1620.
Mathematics course
Take one of the following courses:

A student planning a career in physical therapy working with children with special needs may choose to enroll in classes focusing on special education. Courses could include, but not be limited to SPED 1100, SPED 2100, SPED 2120 and SPED 2940
