Only three credits from PSYC 393, PSYC 394 and PSYC 498 may count as electives toward the minimum requirements for the major.

Psychology Sample Plan of Study

Following is one possible way to complete the major.  

Students should fill in gaps with coursework required for the core curriculum and other majors/minors to take an average of 14 credit hours each fall and spring, and 3-4 credit hours each Interim.  Total credit hours needs to be 124 for degree completion.

 

The PSYC electives must include at least 3 courses chosen from:

PSYC 210, PSYC 232 or 235, PSYC 240, PSYC 250, PSYC 260

Honors in Psychology:

A student may graduate with Honors in Psychology by: 1) earning a cumulative college grade point average of 3.0 or higher; 2) maintaining a department grade point average of 3.50 or higher; and 3) successfully completing a PSYC 498 Senior Research Project (see PSYC 498 handout for full instructions).
